Unifaun’s Privacy Notice

1. Introduction

Unifaun AB and group companies (Unifaun or we/us) care about your personal privacy. This privacy policy explains how we collect and use personal data. It also explains your rights in relation to us and how you can exercise your rights.

This Notice applies to you who

  • are our customer
  • use any of our online services or apps
  • visit our web pages and social media ("digital channels")
  • participate in market activities or customer surveys
  • in any other way come in contact with us, for example via our customer service.

If you use Unifaun Services (such as Unifaun Online, Unifaun TMS, Unifaun WebTA or similar) you will likely be processing personal data of other persons (typically name, address, e-mail, phone number of consignees, consignors or other parties associated with shipments). In that context you will be acting as Personal data controller and as such, it is your responsibility to make sure that the processing complies with GDPR. Please refer to the Data Processing Agreement between you (as a customer to Unifaun) and Unifaun for details regarding that relation.  

2. What personal data do we process about you?

2.1 Information you give us

When you buy or apply for one our services or products, fill out online forms or otherwise contact us you may share contact and identification information (name, billing and shipping address, phone number, email address, tracking number) with us.

You can at any time change your profile information such as your contact information and other editable settings. This can be done either in the service you use or by contacting us.

2.2 Information we collect about you

When you use our service, we may collect the following information about you, either our self or via third parties:

  • Device information – e.g. IP address, language settings, browser settings, time zone settings, operating system and platform and screen resolution. To learn more about how we may collect information from your device, or store information on your device.
  • Information about the interaction between you and Unifaun – how you use the Services; technical data such as page response times, download errors, personal preferences; your interactions with our customer service, etc.
  • Contact- and identification information – title, occupation, billing and shipping address, email address, phonenumber, etc.


3. When and with what purpose do we process your personal data

3.1 When you purchase our services

When purchasing our services, we may process your name, postal address, email address, phone number, ip-address.

Your personal data is processed for the following purposes:

  • To provide the services you have purchased in accordance with the agreement between you and Unifaun.
  • Administer the customer relationship with you in different ways, for example invoicing.
  • For marketing purposes, among those marketing via mail, email and sms (which you can opt-out from by clicking on a link in each message sent through email or sms, or by contacting us via the contact details below);
  • To obtain anonymized statistics over the use of Unifaun’s services;
  • To conduct customer surveys;
  • To develop, test and improve Unifaun’s services and the technical platforms on which they are provided; and
  • To prevent, detect and prosecute fraud and misuse of Unifaun’s services;

3.2 If you visit our Digital Channels and our usage of cookies

Whenever you visit/use our Digital Channels, we collect information that you have chosen to submit to us, e.g. names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers and other personal data.

We may also process information regarding your usage of our Digital Channels, such as transaction history and technical data relating to the device you use to access our Digital Channels, e.g. IP addresses, unique device ID and type of web browser.

Unifaun has placed so-called “cookies” on several of our Digital Channels. Through these, information on how you are using the Digital Channel in question is collected. Your personal data is processed for the following purposes:

  • To maintain, provide, test and improve our Digital Channels;
  • To be able to offer you support when facing a problem on our Digital Channels;
  • For marketing purposes, among those marketing via mail, email and sms (which you can opt-out from by clicking on a link in each message sent through email or sms, or by contacting us via the contact details below);
  • To analyze and group visitors on our Digital Channels based on selection, prioritization and preferences (so-called profiling) in order to provide you with relevant and tailored information, recommendations, ads and offers.
  • To create reports, review the effect of marketing campaigns and create anonymized statistics regarding the usage of our Digital Channels;
  • For management, development and testing of our IT systems in order to secure that our Digital Channels upholds high quality as well as identifying and preventing security attacks;

3.3 When you otherwise are in contact with and communicate with us

When you are in contact with us via, for example, customer service functions, we process information related to your customer service request. If you are visiting or communicating with us through our social media accounts (i.e. third party platforms such as Facebook and Twitter) Unifaun may receive information on your profile and your interactions on such platforms from the third party platform provider.

Your personal data is processed for the following purposes:

  • In order for us to communicate with you or administer your request through our customer service, email forms and our social media accounts;
  • To analyze calls and chat conversations in order to improve our communication and for your and our security;
  • To acquire anonymized statistics regarding the usage of our communication functions; and
  • To maintain, develop, test and improve Unifaun’s services and the technical platforms on which they are provided.


4. Legal basis for our processing of your personal data

Unifaun will always adhere to applicable data protection legislation when processing your personal data. We process your personal data when this is necessary in order to perform an agreement with you or to respond to a customer service request you have made, or when we have a legitimate and compelling interest for processing your personal data, e.g. an interest to market ourselves to visitors of our Digital Channels or an interest in developing and improving our services.

5. For how long do we save your personal data?

The time period for which your personal data is stored by us varies depending on the purpose of the data collection. Unifaun saves personal data about you as a customer as long as we have customer-supplier relationship or it is necessary for any other reason stated in this policy. On termination of the agreement, Unifaun will delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period of time after termination, unless other Swedish or European law, court or authority states otherwise. Your data can also be saved, based on the legal ground of pursueing a legitimate interest. Personal data collected when you contact us is stored as long as you are a customer with us so that we can fulfil our commitment. On completion of a customer relationship, we can store it, based on the legal ground of pursueing a legitimate interest, as evidential material in the event of problems that may arise.

6. Who do we share personal data with?

We may share personal data with subcontractors to Unifaun both inside and outside the EU/EEA. When we share your personal data, we take all reasonable contractual, legal, technical, and organisational measures to ensure that your personal data is treated with an adequate level of protection and in accordance with applicable law. 7. Your rights in association with our processing

  • Right to be informed. You have the right to be informed about how we process your information. We do this through this Privacy Policy, other information on our website, and by answering questions sent to us.
  • Right to access your data. You may request a copy of your data if you would like to know what personal data we process about you. This right is restricted to data, which you have submitted to us.
  • Right to rectification. You have the right to correct inaccurate or incomplete information about yourself.
  • Right to erasure. You have the right to request deletion of your personal data, for example when it is no longer necessary for us to process the data for the purpose it was collected. This right is limited to data that, by law, requires your consent to be processed, if you withdraw that consent and oppose the processing.
  • Right to restrict processing of your data. If you believe your information is incorrect or you believe we use your data unlawfully, you have the right to ask us to stop the processing.
  • Right to lodge a complaint. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory data protection authority, or the Swedish Data Protection Authority (“DPA”). Complaints to the Swedish DPA can be made using this link: https://www.datainspektionen.se/other-lang/in-english/.
