Terhi Louhelainen

Terhi’s mother was the first female truckdriver in Finland. It was in the late 60s and for many trips to Europe she brought Terhi with her. Once in France the police stopped the truck for the only reason that they wanted to take a photo of a female truckdriver, to prove to others that it was true. Until she was 10 years old, Terhi got extra holiday from school to go with her mother. She really enjoyed seeing so many countries and remembers her youth as very exciting.

Her upbringing on the road inspired her at the age of 16 to start working at transport companies. Terhi’s first job was at Polar Express, a Finnish transport company, and she has since worked in various positions and companies. Before joining Unifaun, Terhi was an e-com support specialist and customer support for DHL Multishipping, a system built by Unifaun, so coming to work for Unifaun was not a big change.

Terhi has been with Unifaun since 2013 at the Helsinki office. When she started they were 3 people in total, today they are 15 in Helsinki and 2 in Turku. She lives in Helsinki by the sea and loves spending time in the Finnish archipelago with her husband in their summer cottage. They used to have a sailing boat, but she figured that when you get older you need a little more speed, so today they drive a motorboat.

What is your job at Unifaun?

My role is team leader for the support team in Helsinki, I am responsible for the daily support operations and am doing daily support work myself. I´m also occupational safety and health representative.

What do you like best about your job?

My passion has always been customer service with technical spices. I want to find the best solution for the customers and want them to be happy. We have very professional people at work here and I’m proud of that.

What inspires you?

I love mornings because everything is possible. You don´t know what your day will bring, you start your day with a clean table and if something isn’t going well you can always start over the next day, attitude counts.

What is your favourite benefit at Unifaun?

In Finland we have a cultural and sports benefit where you once a year get an amount to use where you want. For cultural activities, sports, maybe a movie etc. The choice is yours.

Tell us about a special talent you have.

Hahaha! I have excellent memory, my friends say I have an “elephant’s memory”. If this talent is good or bad, who knows? I´m reading a lot, books and newspapers, because I´m curious to know what happens in the world and why it hap
